Bon voyage! We hope you take this time to explore the island! We will provide ideas and suggestions to see and experience all this special island has to offer.
MEALS: Our chef is an island favorite, working with local growers to ensure your meals are not only healthful and delicious, but also a beautiful reflection of your lush surroundings.
TRAVEL: There are a variety of airlines flying to the island and most will pull up in consolidator searches. However, be sure to check SATA Azores Airlines and TAP separately as these do not always pull up in searches. Our good friend Adrian has assembled an informative blog with all you need to know to travel successfully to and around the island, including airline info. Please reference it before emailing with questions!
We will have airport transport available for you upon arrival and departure. If you would like to travel independently while on the island, driving is quite easy and cars are readily available at the airport. We recommend reserving your car as soon as you reserve your place in the workshop. If you would like to find a car-share partner, be sure to join our private Facebook group.
Not only will you enjoy the splendid scenery of the Saõ Miguel, you will also enjoy staying with us at our workshop location, Convent of S. Francisco.
This lovely 17th Century monastery faces the sea and is filled with history, modernity, and echoes of culture and community. With only 13 rooms, this space will be ours exclusively to enjoy a full retreat experience. Each room price is for double occupancy, so if you would like to share a room with another participant, please let us know. Also, you are most welcome to bring your spouse/partner and they will be welcome to join us for breakfast and dinner for an extra meal fee. We ask that lunch be reserved for workshop fellowship.
Each room comes equipped with fireplace and bathroom. The rooms types are mostly similar, just differences in sq meters. Standard + are just the largest in space.
